This content is available for offline viewing in multiple devices including iOS, iPad, Android and Windows.

However, Netflix content isn’t yet available for offline viewership in MacOS. As surprising as it may sound, it’s true. Netflix content can’t be downloaded on your Mac PC as of now. This is because there is no Netflix app available for Mac OS yet.

But there are a few ways to solve this. Read below to find out how to download Netflix on Mac.

How to Download Netflix on Mac?

Netflix subscribers can easily stream their favorite content on their Mac PCs using a web browser such as Safari, Chrome or Firefox. But in order to download content, you need the Netflix app. Which, sadly, isn’t available for Mac OS. Hence, under normal circumstances you can’t download any movie in your Mac OS via Netflix.

So, in order to legally watch Netflix content offline on your Mac PC, try either of the two solutions below.

#1 Use AirPlay

AirPlay is Apple’s streaming support application that allows Apple users to stream videos and music amongst Apple products. A few third parties also support AirPlay including Roku and Xbox. However, AirPlay only allows a certain limit of devices that can be used to stream your favorite content. Also, you can only use AirPlay to stream to the Apple TV, or some (very few) smart TVs that are compatible with AirPlay.

Due to these limitations, it’s best to watch Netflix on your iPhone or iPad, it’s much easier and convenient.

It’s also best to understand that Netflix has a ‘smart downloads’ option enabled by default. If you’re looking to download multiple episodes of a TV show and watch them all offline, you’ll first have to turn off the ‘smart downloads’ option. In order to turn off smart downloads, go to Downloads at the bottom right of your Netflix application. Then choose smart downloads found at the top, and then turn off smart downloads.

After turning off the smart download option, you can basically download entire TV shows with all their episodes. Follow the steps below to download:

  1. Open Netflix App
  2. Find the show you want to download
  3. Click the Download icon
  4. You’ll find the show in My Downloads tab
  5. Click play and enjoy!

#2 Install Windows on Mac

Since the first option doesn’t work well with every device, you may have to actually do the work and install Windows 10 on you Mac PC. This can be done by using Apple’s Boot Camp or some third party virtualization software such as Parallels.

Once you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac, you can easily download the Netflix app and download Netflix content on your Mac.

Conclusion

It’s a real surprise that Netflix app isn’t supported with MacOS. This means the only way to download content on your Mac is by using Boot Camp or Parallels and getting Windows on your Mac.

Hopefully, soon Netflix app will be available for Mac.

Stream responsibly!
